Directorial Fellowship
np: hosts an ongoing one-year Directorial Fellowship for those interested in the various dynamics of forming new scholarly publishers.
The fellowship is intended for early-career individuals interested in exploring scholarly publishing. Fellows will be part of an immersive learning experience in which they gain exposure not only to manuscript acquisition, budgeting, peer review, copyediting, design, marketing, and distribution, but engage in ongoing dialogue about the rationale for and implications of how new scholarly presses are formed, from the ground up.
A key goal from the outset is to initiate and facilitate the formation of at least one scholarly press. Fellows should ideally have an initial idea and vision for a press that they would like to establish and feel is urgently needed within their fields or in the broad scope of academic publishing. Fellows will have access to mentorship and guidance throughout the fellowship.
